LeBron James trade rumors have lost steam, by and large, over the last week.
While scenarios were aplenty last week, some involved teaming with Steph Curry on the Golden State Warriors, some involved teaming with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey on the Philadelphia 76ers, and the least plausible of them involved teaming with Cade Cunningham on the Detroit Pistons.

Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus came up with a doozy of a three-team trade on Friday that explores a potential union with two of his championship teammates, Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, the 2025 NBA draft’s No. 1 overall pick, Cooper Flagg, and long-time L.A. Teammate D’Angelo Russell, on the Dallas Mavericks.
In the deal, the Lakers would land Daniel Gafford (from Mavericks), PJ Washington (from Mavericks), Naji Marshall (from Mavericks), Caleb Martin (from Mavericks), Jaden Hardy (from Mavericks), a 2030 Lakers second-rounder (from Nets), a 2031 Lakers second-rounder (from Nets), a $24.1 million trade exception (LeBron James).
The Mavs would land LeBron James (from Lakers), Bronny James (from Lakers), Drew Timme (from Nets), Tyrese Martin (from Nets), a $1.8 million trade exception (Dwight Powell), and a $1.1 million trade exception (Olivier-Maxence Prosper).
The Brooklyn Nets would land Dalton Knecht (from Lakers), Maxi Kleber (from Lakers), Olivier-Maxence Prosper (from Mavericks), and Dwight Powell (from Mavericks).

Such a deal would make the Mavericks the undisputed biggest threat to the defending NBA Champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
As for the Lakers, it’d reunite several role players who helped prop up Luka Doncic in Dallas.
Finally, the Nets would continue to roll the dice on undervalued bargains but move no closer to anything sustainable.
Exactly like how most three-team trades work, all told.
